Our First Valentines Day!

A few days ago was Valentines Day, and it was our first Valentines Day together! I'm not one to be swept off her feet by all of the marvelous things that guys are expected to do on Valentines Day (or any other day, really...) so I made sure to let Matthan know that I didn't want to do anything really big. Thank goodness he feels the same way.

The big day comes around, and we both have a little bit of a headache. Being pregnant, I can't take any meds so I'm forced to suffer through it. Not a big deal. Matthan took his meds and continued on with the day like a normal work/school day. It wasn't til around 4ish that both of our headaches turned to migraines, and we were absolutely miserable.

Our first Valentine's Day together and we were miserable. Is this a sign?

We were trying to figure out something small and romantic that we could still do without straining our brains too much. We decided to check out a restaurant that I've never been to and that Matthan really enjoyed. Bonus points, it was just down the street a few blocks. It is call East Coast Super Subs.

If you're ever in the Tucson area, I highly recommend that you check it out. The atmosphere is really neat! There's sports posters, jersey's, newspaper clippings, on every single wall and even the ceiling! The entire place is covered in STUFF. It's really awesome.

The food was really great as well. If you get the cheesy fries, it's big enough for 2 people. We made the mistake of getting 2 orders, when we probably should have only gotten one. Matthan finished what I couldn't eat, but he had enough food of his own to eat. I got the Greasy Italian sub which was chicken parm with melted cheese on grilled garlic bread. It was really good! Matthan had the Jimmy Mckenna w/ bacon which is a grilled mix of fresh turkey and swiss with mayo, lettuce and tomato on a toasted roll. (I liked his better than mine!) The drinks are HUGE!! Probably twice the size of any other restaurants sodas.

It is safe to say that we've found our usual restaurant now. The food really was delicious and you can tell that the place definitely thrives on the "usual" customers. Every time someone would come in they would talk to the staff like they were family.

After our stomachs were full, we headed home to snuggle on the couch and watch Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown. All in all, it was a perfect first Valentine's Day.

Oh, and earlier that day he surprised me with flowers. We were watching an episode of The Office when the doorbell rang, and I opened the door and there were flowers on the welcome mat, and no one was there. A ghost delivered them. Spooky.
