Abigail's First Trick or Treating

Halloween has come and gone. I can't believe how fast this past year has been! I was so excited for Halloween to come, it is one of my favorite holidays. I love all of the dressing up and fun decorations! This year I had big plans for our costumes, since Abigail would get to go trick or treating for the first time and I am big and pregnant.

Plan A ultimately fell through. We didn't really have a back up plan, so we just kind of improvised! My sister in law found this ADORABLE pig costume at Home Goods and then the wheels just started turning. Since Abigail was going to be a pig, I had to think of good costumes for my husband and I. What costumes go with a little piggy??

Then I got it. A pig, a cow, and a farmer. Genius! Unfortunately, I didn't get a family photo. *FACEPALM* I did get a picture of Abigail the pig and Daddy the farmer, who actually looked like a mechanic. I also didn't get any pictures of the actual trick or treating. It was just too dark for my phone's camera. I don't think Abigail would have held still long enough anyways.

We got all dressed up and got the dogs ready too. Abigail did most of the walking herself. We made sure to watch out for cars and we took off. Abigail can't quite say trick or treat, but she did say thank you in sign language and blow kisses when we left. I think that was good enough, since she's only 16 months. We were out for a whole hour. I think Abigail could have gone a little longer, but this pregnant mamma was tired of walking. So, we headed home and dug into the goodies! I think Abigail had a blast!

"Is that all for me??"

The chair that Abigail is sitting on was a gift when I was really little from my grandma. The back folds down and it turns into a little step stool. It has my name in pink stickers. My grandma sent me more stickers to put Abigail's name on it, but I just can't bring myself to do it!

This was the point where I had to bribe her with Tootsie Rolls to get her to sit still. She already knows how to work the system.

My grandma is a catalog queen, and when all of us grand kids were little she ordered these personalized treat bags. I have a pumpkin, my brother has a skeleton, and my sisters have a witch and a black cat. We ordered Abigail's cute ghost bag here from Lillian Vernon. I'm debating whether to order another one for little miss # 2 or wait a little longer. They're on sale now so you can get them at a great price!
