DIY Carseat Cover {Free Pattern!}

I can't believe that I actually found time to do a sewing project with two kids. Let me repeat. I did a SEWING PROJECT with TWO KIDS! *applause* Granted, the whole project probably took me an hour and a half to two hours. It was pretty easy and so much fun. I think the most tedious part was putting the pattern together. I got the free pattern from this website here. It is completely free! There are definitely other projects on this site that I want to make, they are all so cute!

I went to Joann's and Walmart to find some fabric for it. The blue minky was on a screaming deal, $3 a yard! At Joann's, they had the same blue minky for $13 a yard. Yeah, no. I found the butterfly fabric in the remnant section at Joann's and they always have the remnants pretty much 75% off so I got a great deal on it! I already had the thread and buttons.

I just LOVE how it turned out! It is so cute and lightweight. Since I made it myself, I got to pick out the fabric and buttons. I didn't really care for the car seat canopys, I felt like they were too short and didn't quite cover the whole car seat.

My next project to make are car seat coolers! I can't wait to make them, I found the CUTEST fabric for them! Stay tuned for the next post!
